Does Independent Animation Have a Future on YouTube?

A couple of months ago I was talking to the ineffably lovely gingercatsneeze about Dishonored and the characters turning into animals. Following that, she did up these lovely animations. They take my breath away.

Also let’s remember that Nickelodeon’s current VA directing staff is garbage. I’m sure they treat Tom with respect because come on he’s Tom Fucking Kenny.

But let’s remember how Nickelodeon treated Gabriel Iglesias when they asked him to do Voiceover.

Flash animation in Ping Pong

Some people asked us about our special animation technique in the Ping Pong TV series.
In this short video you can see the “insides” of two scenes we worked on for the show.
Animators developed a new digital technique, in order to get slow movements, turnings and big zooms, that would have been very difficult in hand drawn animation.

This makes me so happy.

New animation is out!MY RIDE

The cover to Saga’s first hardcover collection. And some quotes from the creators on just why they decided to give comic book retailers across the country a few more grey hairs after the cover of the series’ first issue and tpb got them so much flak:

Just doubling-down on our breastfeeding stance, aren’t we? – Fiona Staples

Some stores won’t even rack the first volume because the breast-feeding is controversial, but…fuck them. – Brian K. Vaughan

Just fabulous, really. <3

Travis Knight Wants Laika Hand-Drawn Animation Feature Film

Laika has made a name for themselves with their hand-crafted stop-motion animated feature films like Coraline, ParaNorman and the upcoming movie Boxtrolls. But the Portland-based animation studio wants to help hand-drawn animation make a comeback. During the Boxtrolls Hall H presentation at 2014 San Diego Comic Con International, Laika head Travis Knight would like to do a 2D hand-drawn animated feature film. Find out more about a possible Laika hand-drawn animation feature film, after the jump.
